It could be said that Elsa Corsi was destined to become a jewellery designer. Heralding from a long line of Italian shoemakers turned merchants, it was only natural that she inherit a passionate eye and skill to pursue aesthetic beauty.
She began her journey in 1999, with a small edited collection of rhinestone belts, hair bands and anklets to an enthusiastic American clientele. Within a few years the line was available at over 60 stores in the USA including Fred Segal, Kitson and The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
In 2002, Elsa began to focus on special and one of a kind pieces. Inspired by the glamour of Old Hollywood she decided to trade cute for couture. Her gorgeous, oversized chandelier earrings graced the lobes of popular local television personalities as they made the Red Carpet rounds amongst an approving celebrity audience. It has been rumored that even Gwen Stefani drooled a little in admiration during an interview, mesmerized by the reporter’s ear candy.
It was in 2006, to celebrate her own wedding that she came out with a dedicated collection of bridal jewellery. Clients were attracted to the vintage technique mastered in the collection and were thrilled to have their own piece of heirloom jewellery. Her bridal and special occasion jewellery is sought out by the city’s top stylists and fashion editors each season for editorial photo shoots in Real Weddings, Weddingbells, NUVO, BC Business and Grace Ormonde Wedding Style.
This year marked her decade in the business and what better way to celebrate than to come out with a limited edition, commemorative 2010 Canadian Beauties Collection of crystal Inukshuks. Traditionally recognized as a group of stacked stones, the Inukshuk have been long regarded as beacons that signified important landmarks of their surroundings. The Elsa Corsi version trades stones for Swarovski crystals to symbolize beauty, uniqueness and longevity. Featured in Flare Magazine, FASHION, The Province, The Westender, the Canadian Beauties were listed in Vancouver Magazines list of Top 20 Olympic Souvenirs. Scooped up by Supermodel Cindy Crawford, ETalk’s Susie Wall, Hello Magazines Nicole Harvie, and CTV anchor woman Colleen Christie the Canadian Beauties made the rounds at the hautest Olympic parties as well as garnering a television interview with Jeannie Becker for a feature on pin trading for CTV’s Olympic Morning Show.
Elsa Corsi has also appeared on the U.K.’s Big Boutique, Breakfast Television, Urban Rush and CTV News Olympic Morning with Jeannie Becker for her expert opinions on costume jewellery.
A supporter of many local charities, she donates her jewellery to worthy fundraising causes that include the Arts Umbrella, the Vancouver Aquarium and the BC Cancer Foundation.
