Real Bride: Irene Lee Nails Her Wedding Day Style (Literally)!

Our brides are pros at nailing their wedding day style, and when they are also Irene Lee of Pure Nail Bar- they are nailing it in real life as well! Irene is the founder of the popular beauty chain and just recently welcomed a new baby into the fold at Marine Gateway, Pure Beauty Bar, which includes the whole gamut of beauty services from hair to waxing. 

We loved her choice of a flirty, short Monique Lhuillier gown! Clearly it was hit, as the newlyweds turned heads and stopped traffic on one of the busiest intersections in the city!

Jaclyn Guillou Sparkles in Elsa Corsi at the Junos!

The Juno Awards are kinda a big deal here in Canada...and in case you didn't know they are the Canadian equivalent to the Grammy Awards. Go Canada! It is so great to Canadian talent recognized on such a huge platform!

So naturally when our friend Jaclyn Guillou was nominated for Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year, we knew that our jewels would be perfect for her Red Carpet arrival!

Jaclyn's first look was put together by Justin Costales (actually, all of her looks were!) We especially loved the rock n' roll vibe of our body chain and ear cuff paired with a BCBG crop top and metallic pants.

Next up was a dreamy tulle number designed by Kathryn Bass and our Christina Marie Headband worn as a necklace! Perfect!

Elsa Corsi Hearts Remmington

It's no secret that we are absolutely, ridiculously head over heels in love with all gowns Hayley Paige. She just gets us. And our jewels look fabulous with her creations! 

In particular, one of our favorites is the Remmington from her Fall 2015 Collection. Behold the beauty....

It is described as "Rosewater long sleeve A-line bridal gown, illusion floral beaded bodice with bateau neckline and low open back, layered English net circular skirt." Swoon!

So when we found out that our Calgary store, The Bridal Boutique, was bringing it with them to Vancouver for a styled shoot-we might have done a little happy dance! Aaaand it might have looked something like this...

Here are some of our favorite photos taken by Blush Wedding Photography of the Remmington Gown from the garden inspired styled shoot that ended up being featured on 100 Layer Cake! Just lie me in a bed of roses...

The lush grounds at Hycroft Mansion were enhanced with additional florals from Granville Island Florist. The result? If it were not for the characteristic Vancouver rain, we could have sworn were transported to a Tuscan Villa!

Our Jennifer Earring incorporates various sizes of marquise crystals and teardrops into a beautiful culmination of sparkle! The double pointed edges on the marquise shape are a natural compliment to the botanical beadwork on The Remmington by Hayley Paige.

In most cases, when accessorizing a long sleeved gown a bracelet is not always necessary. However, we could not resist pairing our Bee Bracelet that was color mixed in a combination of Light Silk and Crystal Clear Swarovski Crystals with this look! What's in a Name? Our Custom Design Process

One of our favorite parts of designing jewellery is making a custom pieces! In fact, some of our best designs are inspired by your requests and often make it into our collection forever celebrated by name of who who inspired them! How cool is that?

Because each piece is made in our very own studio, we have total control over your design from start to finish meaning that some of the many ways we are able to customize are:

• Length: We always guarantee a perfect fit to your bracelets and necklaces ordered from us as we measure your wrist at time of order and make it that size. No need to settle for gaps, hanging chains or other visual intrusions to a good design!
• Post or Clip: The posts we use are surgical steel and we have had excellent results with them in the 16+ years we have been creating jewelry. That said, some people are extra sensitive and for them we can offer the option of 14K posts or clip ons.
• Colors: We have access to all the colors in the Swarovski Crystal rainbow and would be delighted incorporate your favorite colors in our designs.
• Incorporating Heirloom Jewelry: Sometimes we are brought a brides sentimental pearls to transform into a new piece or a most recently a vintage necklace that was reworked into a bracelet.

Typically, our orders can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks, so we encourage you to think of your wedding jewels well in advance of your wear date since you may want to see all the components together for your final gown fittings and beauty trials.

A Modern Ismaili Celebration

We love it when brides find a way to infuse their cultural traditions into their wedding day style, like Narmin did by combining Mehndi with her sparkling Elsa Corsi jewels!  

If you are not familiar with the practice of Mehndi art, it is henna that is applied in elaborate designs a few days before the wedding to the hands and legs of the bride. This ceremony is believed to symbolize happiness, love and prosperity & strength in marriage. 

The Mehndi remains on the hands and legs of the bride to develop the color of the henna. It is believed that "the darker the Mehndi, the deeper the love".

For Narmins first look, she wore our Nicole Earring! The marquise crystal shapes used in both the bracelet and earring are the perfect compliment to each other!

And then for the evening, she did the ol' switch-a-roo into our Margo Earring and a stunning Jenny Packham style gown. Very Old Hollywood meets Bollywood meets Gatsby, we love it!
